The group that owns Monster Sushi and Robata is growing in Madrid and Barcelona.
The Umai Group, a group specialized in Japanese restaurants, continues to grow and consolidate its position in Spain with the opening of a new Monster Sushi in Barcelona. The group, which earlier this year opened a store in Madrid, has reached an agreement to open a restaurant in Aribau 3.
With this transaction, advised by the real estate consulting firm Laborde Marcet, the group completes the opening of its fifth store in Barcelona. “With this opening, The Umai Group consolidates its presence in Barcelona’s Eixample district,” says Àngela Sanchez, Laborde Marcet’s Retail Director.
Additional information
“The Umai Group offers a Japanese gastronomic experience with soul, perfectionist in its apparent simplicity, without sticking to a totally traditional style. The quality of the product and service have always been our priority,” says Carla Serramitjana, Brand Manager and Head of Communications at The Umai Group. “At both Monster Sushi and Robata, we’re not looking to be just another restaurant,” he adds about the group’s philosophy.
The restaurant group is looking to maintain its growth rate and says it is “closer to meeting its goal of 10 new openings by 2024”. An objective that, for Àngela Sanchez, demonstrates “how the retail sector is one of the main promoters of Barcelona’s economic recovery”.
The economic newspaper Expansión has reported the news.
